41.              $100

Atkins, Porter & Co. reverse-OG cornice top, 1840-1846.  A 23.25-inch case veneered in mahogany with a clean finish.  The OG curves are reversed from the usual format, giving the clock a unique look.  The dial glass is original, the mirror may be as well.  The dial is badly stained with chipping; the hands are period and appropriate.  The 30-hour brass time-and-strike movement is unsigned; it is unusual for the time as it uses an unusual strike chain configuration and strikes on the half-hour as well as counts the hours.  It is running and striking on the wire gong.  Two period 30-hour weights and a decent label inside.   $100–$200.
