31.             $10

Philip Barnes & Co. 30-hour wooden works column & splat, 1836-1838.  A short-lived firm that collapsed in the panic of 1837, brought on by banks handing out too much money; banks could print their own money back then, kind of like cryptocurrency today.  This 32-inch case is in rough condition, with veneer losses and missing blocks and side returns; both glasses are original, but there is a crack in the dial glass, lower left, and the lower glass is missing most of the eglomise tablet.  The wooden dial is dirty, the hands are period.  The 30-hour, time-and-strike wooden movement does not run or strike when weights are hung (this clock does not come with weights).  There is a good label on the backwall and an early pendulum bob.  I will part this clock out; high bidder can ask for any or all parts with or without the case.  $10–$100.
