H. Hart & Son column & splat shelf clock, ca. 1835. Henry Hart worked out of Goshen CT making wood movement clocks like this, here with his son.  The case is 30 inches tall on claw feet in front and turned feet in back.  The veneer is clean with an old finish and the bronze stenciling on the half-columns and splat is still evident; note that the unusual splat has been broken and repaired.  Both glasses look original but the mirror may be a last-century replacement.  The wooden dial is clean but faded, the hands are period and appropriate.  The 30-hour time-and-strike wood movement is running and striking nicely, on an iron bell; there are two period weights and a label with losses. Not a common maker, with just a couple of examples on LiveAuctioneers.  $50–$150.
