Silas Hoadley miniature time & alarm, ca. 1830.  Hoadley is well-known for these miniature timepiece-alarms.  This one is 26 inches tall on a pillar & scroll base, where I think the feet have been replaced; you usually see no feet or paw feet.  There are two inset three-quarter-columns with the original stenciling in front and quarter-columns on the back sides.  The splat is figured mahogany and the remainder of the case is veneered in mahogany.   The dial glass is original but is badly cracked, the lower glass is a later period replacement, held in place with wood strips.  Mirrors are found on about half of the examples I can find on LiveAuctioneers.  The wooden dial has been repainted, the hands are mismatched, and the  alarm hand is a modern piece and is not fitted to the wooden alarm ring.  The miniature 30-hour wooden movement will run for a while; the alarm was not tested although a weight is present. These clocks did not have a strike. There is a good label inside.  AAC sold an example in better condition in 2023 for $450 .  $100-$400.
