9.            $350

Rodney Brace miniature 30-hour shelf clock, ca. 1832. A beautiful 23.5-inch case in burl mahogany with a clean finish, the original dial glass and putty, and a period glass with a repainted tablet.  The unsigned tablet is held in place with a rough board; the original glass was puttied into place.  The painted dial shows some soiling but still has colorful spandrels and a center floral decoration.  It is likely original to this case. The hands are period.  The 30-hour wooden Torrington movement will run briefly and will strike on the iron bell.  An old, embossed pendulum bob, two period weights, and a good label on the backwall.  This clock is hard to resist.  $350–$600.
