Waterbury Clock Co. “Ship’s Bell No. 1”, ca. 1915. A 5.5-inch
brass case with a hinged lid over a 4.5-inch porcelain dial. The hands are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury
Clocks & Watches, page 539). It is signed on the dial and a jeweled movement noted. The brass case is mounted on a
home-made painted wooden plaque that is 11 inches in diameter and allows the clock to be hung easily from the wall. The lever-spring
movement is signed and running, striking ship’s bells, but the strike is muffled and will need some adjustment of the hammer on the
cathedral gong in the back. Original key included. No sales on LiveAuctioneers, three old sales on the Antique Clocks
Identification and Price Guide. $100–$250.
