249.              $100

European swinger clock, ca. 1900?  The name ‘eh rucbot’ is carved into the base of the statue, but I cannot find any information on this sculptor, and only one other sales record for a similar figure (but not a swinging clock).  I think it is European, but the swinging ball clock is most likely late twentieth century Chinese.  This swinger is atypical, as the elevated arm holds a torch of freedom, while the lower arm holds the clock.  I cannot find another example like it on LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide. The statue is 17.5 inches tall with a 10-inch ball clock that is swinging without problem.  The statue appears to have its original bronze finish.  Rather nice, really.  $100–$250.

Bob Crowder tells me ProClocks made this in China about 20 years ago.  Thanks Bob!
