Brewster & Ingrahams 8-day sharp gothic (steeple), 1843-1852.  A 20-inch case with good walnut and rosewood veneer and two original glasses.  The tablet is a well-preserved transfer depicting the ruins of Netley Abbey near Southhampton, England; the lithograph was first published in 1833.  The dial holds the original paint with little wear.  The hands are likely original. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol CT; it is running and striking on a wire gong.  A readable label inside, with a repair label from a shop in England.  A nice example. $50–$100.
