Brewster & Ingrahams four post steeple,
1843-1852. A 19-inch case with rosewood veneer on the front and top and mahogany veneer on the sides; four side columns
and four finned finials, all of which look original with some slight damage to some of the finial rings. The finish is
clean and polished. The dial glass is modern, the lower cut and frosted glass is typical and likely original. The
dial holds old paint with some touch-up and wear, but the numbering is strong. The hands are typical and probably original. The
8-day time-and-strike movement has 1-inch brass springs and is signed. It is running and striking. There is a stained
label listing the retailer, Daniel Pratt & Sons in Boston. AAC sold a similar example a year ago for $413. $350–$450.
