220.            $100

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Column”, ca. 1870.  This miniature empire clock is 16 inches tall with rosewood veneer, mostly intact, but a few chips along the top and bottom sides.  The dial glass and mirror are original/period, the original contoured dial pan has an old paper dial, faded and worn.  The hands are “ST” hands.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is spring-driven, signed Plymouth Conn; it is running and striking on a wire gong and there is an alarm hooked up which strikes on an iron bell.  The alarm was not tested.  There is a good but yellowed Thomaston label inside.  A classic model.  $100–$200.
