218.              $250

Terry Clock Co. miniature skeletonized timepiece, 1867-1880.  This relatively uncommon model is 10.5 inches tall under a glass dome that is probably not original but may be antique; the clock is mounted on a small rectangular iron base which sits on a larger cast iron oval base that holds the dome.  The bases are decorated with small scenic vistas on the front and sides, with some losses, and most examples have these same scenes.  The two front arch frames are embossed, and above the dial a brass plaque is embossed with “Terry Clock Co.  Waterbury Conn.” The 3.5-inch porcelain dial has numerous cracks; the hands are as found on other examples.  The clock is powered by two springs and runs 8 days, time-only.   The pendulum hangs on a thread and there is a thumb screw that allows you to adjust the pendulum up and down; the bob is embossed on the front and back.  This guy is running like a champ.  No label.  I found ten examples on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide and LiveAuctioneers, with the most recent sale at Cottone’s in 2017 for $375.  $250–$400.
