Silas B Terry “Eight Day Brass Clock” (sleigh-front triple decker), 1841-1859.  A beautiful 32.5-inch standard triple decker with refinished rosewood veneer and burl columns.  The three glasses are original/period and the tablets well preserved, with just modest losses.  The sailor boy with the boat and two people, one a girl, behind him is interesting.  The flat metal dial is clean with little wear or chipping.  The hands are not quite matches, the minute hand being a replacement, but both are period.  The brass 8-day, weight-driven time-and-strike movement is not signed but has distinctive SB Terry features, like a large escape wheel between the plates (it beats seconds), solid main wheels, and an unusual strike chain.  This movement was seen in another SB Terry triple decker sold by AAC in 2023. For more information on this clock see this NAWCC Bulletin article from 1966.  The clock is running and striking, driven by two old cast iron weights. There is a very good (and surprisingly large, for Terry) label inside.  These clocks from Terry’s late period are not common.  The one sold by AAC two years ago went for $250.  $250–$400.
