Forestville Mfg. Co. miniature ripple-front round gothic, 1842-1849.  A miniature beehive (round gothic), 15.5-inches tall, with a dark finish and good ripple on the front. There is a bone or ivory knob on the door.  Both glasses are period, the upper glass original; the period lithograph tablet is in remarkably good condition and depicts P.T. Barnum's American Museum on Broadway in New York City, probably based on a Currier lithograph from 1846 .  The dial is relatively clean with little chipping or wear and is unsigned; the hands are slight mismatches.  The 30-hour brass movement is signed J.C. Brown; it is clean and polished and running without a problem, although the wire-gong strike tends to run on.  The nearly complete label is stained but readable, and of course J.C. Brown’s name is prominently featured.  Miniature beehives are even less common than miniature steeples.  AAC sold this clock in 2021 for $1400.  $1200-$1400.
