175. $100
Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Column”, 1891. A third
example of this model, this one from much later (1891), and with rosewood veneer all around, and a clean, polished finish. The
shell columns retain the original finish and gilding top and bottom but may have been varnished. Both glasses are original,
the tablet of a fox encountering a snake rebacked. The dial is a galvanized steel replacement with a glossy paper dial. The hands are proper and ST issue. The 30-hour time-and-strike, weight-driven movement is signed and running, striking on a
wire gong. There is a varnished Seth Thomas Thomaston label inside, and the manufacture date is stamped on the back. $100–$200.
