162. $10
Bench-made banjo, ca. 1980. The 41-inch oak
case has a medium-dark stained finish and is a bit rough. There is a nice, applied eagle carving in the middle of the box door,
and there are carved side-arms. The metal dial is aluminum, the hands modern reproductions. The 8-day, bim-bam strike
movement is not signed and probably of foreign origin; I cannot get it to run or strike, and it will need attention. It should
strike on two rod chimes. There is no label and no markings that might identify the maker. Well, it looks nice. $10–$50.
