154.              $75

Atkins Clock Co. “Octagon Drop XX”, 1859-1879. Gregory & King (The Clocks of Irenus Atkins) describe this as a rare model with an unusual 8-day spring-driven movement, but there are several examples on LiveAuctioneers, selling for around $100.  The 24.5-inch case is veneered in flame mahogany with an old and slightly crusty finish.  Both glasses are old and the pendulum door tablet has been rebacked.  The dial is repainted with the proper period hands.  The 8-day, time-only movement is unsigned and a bit unusual, as it looks like it has been turned sideways; it is running without problem.  There is a good label inside.  $75–$150.

Looking for an easy way to save the clocks you like?

Here's an easy way to keep track of your favorite clocks:  Open/download the Bid Form PDF onto your computer (it should open in a new window) and type in the clocks you want to save.  Right click to 'save as', or click the download arrow in the top right corner of your browser window, and you can save the filled-in form on your computer - I recommend your desktop.  It will be easy to find and you can open it any time to add or subtract clocks from the list.  When you are ready to go, your bid form will be too!
