Waterbury Clock Co. “Drop Octagon”, ca. 1875. A 25-inch case
with rosewood veneer trim, flame mahogany veneer on the front around the dial, and regular mahogany on the sides. The dial glass
is an old replacement, the pendulum glass is period with a well-retained tablet. The 12-inch dial has been repainted with the
Waterbury logo, the hands match the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, page 216). The 8-day time-and-strike
movement is die-stamped Waterbury Clock Co, CT; it is running and striking on a wire gong as expected. There is a dark label
inside. $100–$200.
