140.            $300

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Office No. 9”, ca. 1921.  You’ve probably not seen this model before; there are no sales records on LiveAuctioneers and just one sale, in 2003, on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  This is a 30-day, time-only clock that was made to be functional, not beautiful.  As the name says, it was made for office use, with a strong and reliable double-spring movement (86W) as big as a Volkswagen, and a plain and economical case.  The 32-inch oak case has been refinished beautifully; both glasses are old and look like they are original. The 12-inch dial has been repainted, the hands are ST issue.  The movement has been cleaned and serviced and is running confidently, with a replacement pendulum stick and bob.  A beat scale but no label.  If you have the right spot for this clock, I think you’ll be pleased with it; an office or kitchen seems right to me.  $300–$600.
