127.            $100

Forbes & Tucker 30-hour shelf clock, 1840-1841. This short-lived partnership was in Concord, NH; the label notes “New Clock Factory” with these two selling both wholesale and retail. The 29-inch case is veneered in mahogany with a clean finish and no losses; note the beveled front edges.  The dial glass is a modern replacement, and the mirror appears to be an old replacement.  It may have been an eglomise glass originally. The wooden dial is in clean condition with light spotting and soiling; the chapter rings are worn off.  The hands are period. The 30-hour wooden movement contains brass bushings, as advertised on the label, and is running and striking on a wire gong. There are two square (groaner) weights, one of which is a recent reproduction.  There is a good label on the backwall. Two sales on LiveAuctioneers, one of which is like this one and sold for $150 in 2015.  $100–$200.
