Boardman & Wells long-drop column & splat, 1832-1837.  A 32-inch case in exceptional condition – everything is original: the mahogany veneer with just the right amount of patina; the bronzed columns and splat, with the names “Boardman & Wells” on a ribbon across the splat under an eagle (yes, the bronzing is very dark, but it’s original); both glasses with the original putty and the original tablet, in outstanding condition; and the colorful dial, period/correct hands, 30-hour wooden time-and-strike movement, period weights, and a well-preserved label. My only complaint:  I can get it to strike but not to run.  A common clock that is as original and in as good a condition as I have ever seen.  It should be in a museum.  $200–$400.
