Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 10 Early Farmer’s”, 1870-1878. A 21-inch walnut case with two period glasses and early glossy paper dials with printed faux walnut corners. Both dials are
in good condition with light wear. The hands are correct, the calendar hand is an incorrect replacement; proper calendar hands
are available from TimeSavers.com and other clock parts outlets. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement was made and signed by
EN Welch; it is running and striking as expected on a wire gong, and the calendars are advancing nicely. There is also an alarm
hooked up which winds at the bottom of the case. It was not tested. The brass pendulum bob should be nickel. There
is a shred of a label on the back of the case, no date inside, suggesting that this clock was made prior to 1870. This model
typically sells for $200–$250.
