National Calendar Clock Co. “O.G. Calendar Clock”,ca. 1890.  This company bought movements from the New Haven Clock Co. and put them in two models: an OG case (found here), and a column and cornice case.  There is little information on this company, and it likely did not stay in business for long. Their clocks are not rare, however, and can be found on LiveAuctioneers.  Although some cases were veneered with rosewood, most used grain painting to imitate rosewood; this example appears to have been stripped of the grain-painting and then stained. The case is 26 inches tall, the door glass is modern.  Both dials are painted and original; the gold numbering has been strengthened on the calendar dial.  Both dials state, “Manufactured for the National Calendar Clock Co.” and were made by New Haven. The time hands are black hands painted gold – they should be brass Maltese hands.  The calendar hand is brass and is original. The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is die-stamped with the New Haven logo; it is running and striking on a cathedral gong. The simple calendar mechanism mounts on the back of the calendar dial and is functional, but the wire connecting it to the time movement needs adjustment for the calendar hand to advance.  There is no label, inside or out.  $250–$500.
