E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Arditi” shelf calendar, ca. 1889.  The walnut case is 27 inches tall with a clean old finish.  The door glass is original, with the original putty; the dials are old paper; the time hands are period replacements, the month indicator hand is not correct.  The Welch 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the wire gong, and the calendar hands are advancing.  There are two very dark labels on the back, one illegible.  AAC has sold five of this model in recent years for an average of $394.  $350–$450.
