E. Ingraham & Co. “Doric No. 2” and “Venetian
No. 2”, ca. 1870. The Doric No. 2 (on the left) is 16 inches tall in an old and grungy finish; the glasses are original with
a nice gilded eagle tablet, with some losses to the background. The dial is old yellowed paper, the hands period. The
8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed; it will not run and the strike is haphazard and unremitting. Needs work. A
good label, no key. The Venetian No. 2 (on the right) is 18 inches tall with an old finish on rosewood veneer and plenty of
patina. There are some veneer losses on the right side. Both glasses are original, the tablet has been rebacked. The dial is old yellowed paper, the hands proper. The signed 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking properly. There is a good label inside. Both classics for one money. $25–$100.
