E Ingraham & Co. “Spectacle”, 1860-1880. Ly calls this model the Grecian, shown on pages 258-259 of his book on Ingraham clocks, but it is more often referred to as the Spectacle. It is a rare clock, highly sought after by Ingraham collectors.  It is 18 inches tall with rosewood and mahogany veneer in good condition and a clean finish, three original glasses, the original painted dial and hands.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned, running and striking on a nickel bell.  There is a good and typical green label inside.  Just this side of perfect.  Schmitt Horan sold two last fall for $900 and $750.  $500–$1000.
