Ansonia Clock Co. unknown figural, ca. 1890. The movement is marked Ansonia but I cannot find this model in Ly’s book on Ansonia clocks.  The ornamentation on the front of the base is Ansonia and the clock is in an Ansonia style, but lacks a top decorative urn when compared to Ansonia figural illustrations. I can’t identify the statue of the woman but some of the accoutrements suggest that she is a queen.  Both the statue and the clock cannister have been repainted in slightly different golds.  It is 11 inches tall and 17 inches wide; the base is metal. The dial glass is flat and beveled, the dial is painted with considerable losses, the hands are Ansonia, and there is a visible escapement. The signed movement will run only briefly and will probably need attention; it does strike on the hour and half-hour.  I had to provide the pendulum and I am not sure it is correct.  $50–$100.
