Ansonia Clock Co. “10-Inch Drop Octagon-Gilt Calendar”, ca. 1901. A 21.5-inch case with rosewood veneer and gilt trim pieces around the dial and pendulum window.  The veneer has been lost from the round octagonal trim and the gilding lost from the inner trim pieces (now white).  The dial glass is modern, the pendulum glass period/original with the original tablet.  The dial has a matte finish replacement with the Ansonia logo; it has some oil staining around the mainstem.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time, half-hour strike, and calendar movement is signed Ansonia and is running and striking on an Ansonia heavy coiled gong, and the calendar hand is advancing.  There is a label inside. $75–$150.
