E. Ingraham Co. “Arctic” calendar wall clock,ca. 1896.  This 36-inch refinished oak case most closely resembles the Arctic, but it is missing the side arms that should extend to the crest along both sides.  The door glass is period, but the gilt ‘Regulator’ label is not shown on the catalog illustration (Ly, Ingraham Clocks & Watches, page 145).  The dial is replaced paper and is signed Ingraham at the bottom.  The hands are appropriate.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed, clean and running, striking on the cathedral gong, and the calendar is advancing.  The pendulum has the fancy Ingraham embossed bob.  There is no label.  This clock would have cost you $13.50 in 1896, the equivalent of $400 today.  A luxury at the time.  $100–$200.
