Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Office Calendar No. 3”, ca. 1863. The “Peanut” was an early wall calendar from Seth Thomas, only 23 inches from tip to tip, with a 6-inch time dial and an 8-inch calendar dial.  This model uses a round, double-wind, time-only movement that runs for 8 days, and was used only in this model.  The rosewood veneer is beautiful here and complete, with a light patina.  Both glasses are modern and the dials have been professionally repainted; the hands are proper.  The round 8-day, double-wind movement is unsigned, running without issue, and the calendars are advancing.  The movement mounting blocks are new, as are the lift wires.  If you collect calendar clocks this is one you must have.  AAC sold two in the past five years, for $3100 and $3373; Cottone’s sold a similar example last fall for $2600. $2000–$3000.
