15.              $750

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 2”, 1909. I think the 35.5-inch case is cherry, but I can’t exclude the possibility that it is mahogany.  The finish is very old, with alligatoring and an uneven finish on the right side.  Both glasses appear to be original; the dial does as well, with minimal flaking, fading, and soiling.  The hands are Seth Thomas including the seconds hand; the 8-day, time-only movement is stamped with the ST logo and is running without issue.  There is a proper pulley, a No. 2 brass weight, and proper pendulum and bob, with a white label inside on the bottom.  There is a piece of veneer missing on the back left side of the base and there are no buttons on the bottom.  The date is stamped on the back.  An old, rough finish is all there is to complain about here. AAC has sold only one No. 2 in cherry, in 2021, for $1237.  $750–$1200.
