Daniel Pratt’s Son wall regulator, 1895-1916. This clock was made by the Boston Clock Co., in business from 1884 to 1894, after which it became the Eastman Clock Co. (1896), and then the Chelsea Clock Co. (1897).  The 8-day, weight-driven movement is signed at the bottom and numbered 507.  The 35-inch walnut case has a clean, older finish with a modern dial glass and an old lower glass; the tablet has been retouched and rebacked, and shows some wear to the gilded inner border, as well as some lifting.  The dial has been overpainted, preserving the original signature but the numbering is faded and the color is uneven.  There is some peeling beginning, and repainting is probably in order.  The hands are proper.  It is running without problem, driven by a proper weight and a pendulum with a faintly damascened bob.  There is a weight shield and a tie-down, but no label.  One sale on LiveAuctioneers, at Eldred’s in 2023 for $700. $500–$700.
