4.              $1000

E. Howard & Co. “Marble Dial No. 20”, ca. 1923.  The catalog says this marble-front clock came in three sizes (28, 36, and 42 inches square) and this is not one of them; this dial is 26 inches square.  Hard to know what to make of that, except that Howard made so many special-order clocks that this shouldn’t be surprising.  I believe the numbering has been strengthened, as well as the name; the hands are as shown in the catalog and on other examples.  The 8-day, weight-driven, time-only movement is signed and running, driven by a compounded lead weight.  There is a pendulum adjustment arbor above the mainstem and a lever at the bottom to restart the pendulum. Several sales on LiveAuctioneers, most recently for $2100.  $1000–$1500.

Can I return my clock if I don’t like it?

Absolutely!  Save your packing and box, you have 30 days from receipt to return it for a full refund if you are unhappy.  If the clock is not as described, or I missed something important and that is not evident from the pictures, I will refund your shipping costs (both ways) as well.  Find another auction company that does that!
