230. $75
Hamburg American Clock Co. chiming shelf clock,
1891-1926. A German company that proudly used American production techniques, eventually merging with Junghans in 1930. The mahogany case is 16.5 inches tall with blond wood inlays on the front. The engraved silver dial is badly oxidized. The glass and hands are likely original. The 8-day, time, strike, and chime movement is marked with the crossed arrows logo
of HAC; it is running, chiming on the quarter hours on four rods with a nice tone, and counting the hours. $75–$250.
