Chauncey Jerome “Wood Lever” 8-inch with alarm,ca. 1886. A 12-inch diameter octagonal case with rosewood veneer; note the missing strip on the upper left side. The dial
glass is old, the painted dial original, with a Jerome stamp below the mainstem. The hands are original. The 1-day lever-spring
movement includes an alarm and is signed “Chauncey Jerome New Haven USA”. It is running; the alarm was not tested but should
work, striking on a small steel bell at the bottom. Note that there is no strike. No label inside or on the back. AAC sold a smaller time-and-strike in 2022 for $75. Time and alarm seems unusual to me. $50–$100.
