Waterbury Clock Co. “Regulator No. 53”,ca. 1906. A 53-inch oak case with a clean old finish; all the trim pieces, balls, and finials are present and appear to be original. The door glass may be original, as is the metal dial and paint, and the three hands. The signed Waterbury 8-day, double-wind,
time-only movement is driven by two brass weights that I don’t think are original; the pendulum stick and large brass bob are Waterbury
issue, and as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, Vol. 1, page 187). It is running without
problem. Recent sales for this model at other auction houses range from $550 to $800. $500–$800.
