113. $50
Enameled cast iron mantel clock, ca. 1900. This is
a better-quality cast-iron mantel clock, probably imported from Europe, but there is no label and no maker’s marks on the dial or
brass, 8-day, time-and-strike movement. The finish has been touched up and polished, as have the brass top ornament and handles. The dial glass is flat, the dial porcelain, the hands appropriate replacements. It is running and striking on a cathedral gong
with a rich sound. $50–$150.
