Ansonia Clock Co. enameled iron black mantel, ca. 1900.  A simple, elegant black mantel clock, 14 inches wide and 10 inches tall.  The case has been professionally repainted, the dial appears to be a replacement and is not signed.  There is a beveled glass and hands that are found on some Ansonia black mantel clocks.  There are full metal columns on each side in alcoves.   The movement is Ansonia, 8-day time-and-strike on a cathedral gong with an visible escapement, but there is no label on the case and I cannot find this model in Ly’s Ansonia Clocks & Watches.  This guy runs for a while and then stops.  $75–$150.
