Ansonia Clock Co. “Indiana”, ca. 1904. A top-end enameled iron case with extensive gold ornamentation on the case, including a flute-playing putti in front at the bottom,
and two metal plaques with Renaissance figures in high relief on the curved sides of the case. This clock is also seen with
various figurals on top. The case is 11.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide. The cast-metal dial sits behind a thick beveled
glass with some chips at the top; the dial might benefit from a cleaning. The signed 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement
is running and striking on a cathedral gong. There are only two sales of this model on LiveAuctioneers, in 2009 for $1900, and
in 2011 for $1750. Just one sale on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide, in the early 2000’s. An uncommon
model. $500–$1000.
