Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Arch Top”, ca. 1880. A 15-inch
clock normally veneered in rosewood, but most of the veneer has been removed, showing the oak base wood. It looks pretty good;
there is a strip of rosewood veneer on the front arch and on the glass bezel. The glass looks original, the dial is glossy paper
in poor shape. The hands are correct. The Seth Thomas 8-day, time-and-strike movement runs with coaxing and strikes on
a wire gong. There is a dark but readable label inside. Someone painted the inside of the door yellow; I would never have
thought of that. $25–$75.
