92. $100
Ansonia Clock Co. “Triumph”, ca. 1890. One of Ansonia’s finer shelf clocks, with side mirrors and putti statues on each side. This example is all-original; the 24-inch
black walnut case probably bears the original finish and 100+ years of dust, oil, and grime, also known as patina. The side
mirrors are likely original, as are the statues and door glass. The signed original paper dial is so dark as to be illegible;
the hands are proper. The 8-day, time-and-strike Ansonia movement will run briefly and strike reluctantly; it will need cleaning. There is a dial-adjustable pendulum bob and the original black paper on the backwall. Just remnants of a label on the back. This one needs some work, but everything is there. $100–$200.
