89. $150
Seth Thomas “Capitol No. 2”, ca. 1911. A second model in the Capitol Series, this one with the US Capitol color image. The 23-inch oak case has a dark crusty finish
from repeated varnishing; the original glass shows slight discoloration but no significant losses. The paper dial is signed
and shows typical wear, the hands are proper. The Seth Thomas 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement will run briefly and
needs to be cleaned; the strike on a cathedral gong is slow. There is a proper ST pendulum bob and a white (now yellowed) label
on the inside bottom and on the back. Alarm untested. Another rare model with only a few sales on LiveAuctioneers. $150–$250.
