Ansonia Clock Co. 8-day steeple, 1850-1854. A 20-inch
steeple with rosewood veneer and two original glasses; the tablet shows light wear. The painted dial is original, with some
crackling and touch-up at the bottom. The hands are likely original. This 8-day, time-and-strike movement in this clock
is signed Terry & Andrews and was used after Anson Phelps persuaded them to move to Ansonia CT and work for him as the first Ansonia
Clock Co. The green label is an Ansonia Clocks Co. label. It is running and striking but the strike is noisy. $75–$150.
