Forestville Mfg. Co. 8-day fusee steeple with ripple trim, 1842-1849.  A 20-inch steeple with figured mahogany veneer, ripple trim around the door, and two original glasses; the tablet has lost some of the milk glass background.  The painted dial shows considerable wear, losses, and touch-up; the hands are likely original.  The square plate 8-day, double fusee movement with brass fusees is signed Forestville Mfg Co.; it will run but the strike is hung up.   There is a tattered label inside, with J.C. Brown at the bottom.  This is an unusual combination of a fusee movement (uncommon for FMC) and ripple trim on just the door.  $350–$600.
