Forestville Mfg. Co. ripple-front steeple, 1842-1849. A 20-inch sharp gothic with bright rosewood veneer on the sides and ripple trim on the front.  Both glasses are likely original, the lower glass cut and frosted, and the original dial is signed J.C. Brown at the top with slight chipping and fading.  The hands are period/original.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed Forestville Mfg Co and is running and striking. There is a tattered label behind plastic.  AAC has sold seven similar examples in the last four years for an average of $634. This is a nice example.  $450–$700.
