Forestville Mfg. Co. ripple-front round gothic (beehive), 1842-1849.  A second example of this model, this one with a frosted and cut-glass tablet.  Good mahogany veneer and ripple trim on the front, with two old glasses; the dial glass may be a replacement, the frosted tablet may be original. The dial may be an old repaint and has been touched up as well; the hands are period and proper.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed Forestville MFG Co and is running and striking without problem.  A decent label inside with JC Brown at the bottom.  Another very nice example.  $500–$600.
