268. $150
Unsigned two-weight Vienna, ca. 1880. A 42-inch case from finial
tip to finial tip, with contrasting trim on the front. The door glass looks like a modern replacement. The porcelain dial
has numerous cracks and chips, the fancy hands look right. There are two small, old unequal weights driving the time and half-hour
strike, regulated by a large hollow pendulum bob. The tolerances are very close on this clock, and it is difficult to get the
movement correctly placed between the front glass and the back wall; it will run briefly when everything is just so, but I think the
movement needs attention. It’s more of a looker than a runner. $150–$300.
