AD Mougin onyx shelf clock, ca. 1890.  A 13-inch case with an onyx top, base, and front columns and a brass frame with beveled glasses. The onyx is clean and without flaws or damage, the glasses without chips, the brass still shiny.  The dial glass is domed and beveled, the decorated porcelain dial clean and without chips or cracks, with ornate gold hands.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is signed RACK FRENCH MAKE, with a medallion stamp for AD Mougin; I can’t get it to run and it strikes erratically.  $100–$250.
