Small carriage clocks, three French, one Waterbury, ca. 1900. The
first clock (a) is a French oval, 4.25 inches tall with the handle up, with four good curved and beveled glasses and a beveled glass
on top over the platform escapement. The brass finish is tarnished, the dial clean with proper hands. The movement is
unsigned; I don’t know if it runs for 8 days or 1 day. I found a knob for the handset (not shown). It is running. A key is included. The second (b) is the same size but rectangular with a tarnished finish and five good, beveled glasses. The porcelain dial is good with proper hands. The movement is unsigned; I was able to find a knob for the handset (not shown). It is running (length unknown); a key is included. The third clock (c) is smaller, just 3 5/8 inches tall with the handle up;
the brass is tarnished, there are four good, beveled glasses. Some light hairlines at the top of the dial, with proper hands. The movement is marked ‘French movement’, with some script letters indicating the maker or retailer. It is a backwind, probably
one day, and is running. The last clock (d) is a Waterbury Clock Co. “Speck”, three inches tall in a tarnished case with three
beveled glasses, two with some internal edge chips. The dial is clean and signed, the hands correct. The one-day movement
is signed but not running, with a broken hairspring. Each for $25, or all four for $100. Be sure to specify on your bid
sheet which one you want, or if you want the package deal.
