E.N. Welch Manufacturing Co. “Jewel” paperweight timepiece, ca. 1885. A four-inch cut-glass case containing a 1-day, time-only, backwind lever movement in clear glass.  The case is free of chips and cracks, with little wear.  There is a beveled glass over the porcelain dial; the hands differ from the catalog illustration. The back is signed and bears the Welch logo.  It is not running.  This model is illustrated on pages 98-100 of Ly’s book on Welch clocks.  $25–$50.
