243. $250
Miniature ripple-front double candlestick steeple, ca. 1980? A 17-inch
walnut case with ripple molding on the front and two candlesticks on the sides of the double-steeple. Like #242, the maker is
unknown to me, but we have a clue as to the date of manufacture, as the ripple molding was likely made by Irvin Rosen around 1980. The glasses were painted by Tom Moberg. The metal dial is painted and decorated, the hands appropriate; the 30-hour time-and-strike
movement is unsigned but looks antique. It is running and striking on the wire gong. My consignor says the movement is
by the Terry Clock Co. and the dial was painted by George Vidmar. There is no label and the back lacks an inscription. Darn nice. $250–$500.
